Avisena Names Timothy Mills Vice President of Sales & Marketing

MIAMI, Oct. 19, 2010 – Avisena, a provider of revenue cycle management software and services for physician practices, today announced the appointment of Timothy Mills to vice president of sales and marketing.

With more than 20 years of healthcare and information technology experience, Mills will lead Avisena’s marketing efforts and sales of the company’s technology-enabled solution, which helps physicians improve their practices’ financial and business processes.

Previously, Mills was senior vice president of provider operations with NaviNet, America’s largest real-time healthcare communications network that links healthcare plans with physicians and other industry professionals. Before this, he was vice president of sales and business development with Spheris, a firm that provides outsourced medical transcription, clinical documentation and other services to more than 500 health systems, hospitals, clinics and group practices. Earlier in his career, Mills was general manager with CareScience, where he deployed the Care Data Exchange, a model for the exchange of patient-centric health information across the continuum of healthcare.

A frequent speaker who has presented before the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the World Health Congress, Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
